Things that are difficult to stay with long enough to get to understanding. Things like addiction. It’s easy to wrap these things all up in our fear to isolate them from our worlds. That is unless it hits home. Hits you right in the gut and takes your breath away. And you have to face it, whatever it is, inside of you or someone you love. And you have to figure out how to hold some of it yourself. Point is, 130 people. Beloved people. Die everyday from a drug overdose in our country. I understand the morally false logic that some believe keeps them safe from having to learn this depth of compassion. But you want forgiveness for your sins, right? Yeah well. So do we all.
